The club is interested to hear what you would like to see at Edge Hall Road for the final game of the season. We are determined to make this a day to remember, so make your suggestions here and we will endeavour to make them happen!

Haha, come to think of it Butchy I was wondering what Mr 'mad dog' hollis was doing putting all that C4 around the clubhouse entrance!
The Juniors will DEFINITELY be playing a significant role in the day, and the club will make sure you are all updated through the official site. We hope to let you know by next week what the structure for the day will be.

Could someone come down to John Rigby on Wednesday night and sell tickets for the final game. I'm sure most of the parents would buy them, especially as the juniors would be involved in the last match as well.

This may sound sarcastic but believe me it is not meant to be someone in the centre circle telling us where the club is going and this time informing everyone as to what is going to happen and telling the juniors the club is staying in Orrell as once the club moves to someone elses ground then the juniors might as well switch clubs as joining another club will give the kids an oppertunity to join up into bigger squads give the supporters and volunteers something to build on as well as the team and supporters make it a possitive day and not a day to regret . get as many of the juniors in club kit to parade a defiant goodbye to our ground d'ont let other clubs build whilst we wither away promise to come back strongly in our own ground and eventually with our own "shed" as a friendly clubhouse if we do this we will get the support of the orrell community and buisnesses and other rugby clubs or perhaps just a centre circle public hanging I can think of two ideal candidates for the end of the rope can you?

Good idea debbie, we definitely want some. Not going to be at training tonight, if someone manages to bring some down, would it be possible to leave them with Colin as a lot of parents dont make training, but im sure most will want some.
Thanks

I have bought my ticket online and hope to be there for your last game at EHR.
May I say, as an Otley member, how desperately sad it is to see your club in such dire straits. But for the grace of God and all that.....
I wish you all the best in your admirable efforts to keep ORUFC going. Good luck from all of us here across the Pennines.

What about inviting some Orrell legends of days gone by? What a lift it would give us to see the likes of Kimmins, Cusani, Langford, Ainscough making an appearance at this final match ?

Over the years I have spent many a happy hour in the clubhouse at Orrell. In those years prior to the premiership and for a few after i have fond memories of EHR. Orrel then and I believe still is the most welcoming and freindly club in the leagues. As a Gloster supporter in those days we enjoyed many a forwards battle as the two clubs had the bigest packs in rugby. I have lasting memories of watching Lord Dewi Morris playing his last game aginst gloster at EHR in his last season. He scorred a try and the crowd bayed for him to take the conversion, he missed. The club has produced many international players of which it can be proud and hope that wherever you play Orrell as a Club will survive. Where can i find the details of the last game as if i can make it i would love to come and sit in on the Heamaroid causing plank in the Grand Stand one more time and support what to me is true rugby at grass roots.
ps the EX Gloster Boy is because i now live in worcester but gloster is still close top my heart. And they are in the process at Gloster of knocking down the main stand for a new one next season??/.
All the very best for the future.

Many thanks to Richard from Otley and glosterboy (if you still support that great rugby club you are not 'ex' just because you have moved counties. - you still have the real club in your heart and will never be rid of it, unfortunately for your better half) for your good wishes. It means a lot. Richard, your good wishes are especially welcome as you come from the land of the white rose - this game even transcends historical battles!! I have spent a number of very happy hours in the clubhouses of both clubs (why does 'The Shed' have such a reputation? - I've always loved the banter in there, given as good as I've got and been respected for it and ALWAYS had a bloody good laugh}. Thank you for your support. We will go down, and probably a long way, but we will not disappear. After all, THIS IS ORRELL.

Hi All. I coach Wimslow U-17's and we have been to Orrell twice this season, the last today and we lost in the QF of the Colts Plate. It is clear that there is a great deal of talent in the junior colts, and the coaches and management have done a fantastic job at maintaining the team throughout the season. What ever the rights and wrongs of the current situation, what seems clear are that the 'looser's' are the next generation of Orrell RUFC. I am confident that Orrell RUFC will survice in one for or another. The effort, the talent and the history of club will survive much longer that the 'politics' and economics of the current situation. I wish you all the best for the future and I, and some of my colts intend to be there on the final home game. Regards Andrew Duggan Under-17 Coach Wilmslow RUFC I have bought my ticket online and hope to be there for your last game at EHR. May I say, as an Otley member, how desperately sad it is to see your club in such dire straits. But for the grace of God and all that..... I wish you all the best in your admirable efforts to keep ORUFC going. Good luck from all of us here across the Pennines.
