There seems to be some speculation about where we are playing next season - although we don't know exactly what the committee is planning (and they are planning).
However there are some options which have been aired recently in these forums and in the pub.
So - at the risk of incurring the wrath of the committee - I thought we'd have a poll to see what you all think about the options that have been aired in public.
There may be others not listed so please vote for them - also you might like to tell us what they are....
Disclaimer: None of these options are official club policy and it possible that any other clubs involved have not been approached - and may not want us there if they were (although the Millenium Stadium is keen). It is really just a bit of fun and a chance for people to offer their valuable opinions in one single thread.

By the way - the unstated rule here is that if you vote you must leave a message... I know who you are so i'll make you pay if you don't...
Millenuim Stadium? Pitch is a bit dodgy... good facilities ...fair rent EHR? No facilities... expensive rent ...very good pitch

My son suggested that I bought the JJB Stadium and Orrell could play there next season!!! For any committee members reading this please note that as my bank manager will tell you this is not an option!!

My posting debut, hello all.
JJ Bradburn, behave yourself. What are you going on about? You obvisouly know very very little about the club.
Why not come down to the last three games at edgehall road. You could even come down early, give a hand with the setting up, give someone a lift on the gate, make a brew or two. Then you can actually see what the clubs about and what we're trying to do, rather than having a go from behind your computer screen. Theres plenty of humour and spirit about the place...still. Hope to see you then.

I voted wigan ru. The reason was becasue a few seasons ago us senior colts now were going to go there when we lost the playing fields @ EHR but a vote kept us in the Orrell area.
They have decent facilities and at the time were going to redevelop it (dont no if that happened or not).
We played a few matches there before we went to SJR & we also made money by selling coffee tea bacon butties etc which we never able to do at EHR or John Rigby as a matter of fact.
Why not move there, it would mean that we could make money etc to try and keep the club ticking over as we cant really charge people to go on a college field to watch a game of rugby.
However would we have to change our name etc?

I like the idea of borrowing wigan RU's facilities - I'd rather pay them than someone who doesn't care about Rugby Union.
I gather the pitches have been done up - and the clubhouse is pretty good. We could probably set up our tents if necessary.
If we played there, i'd say it would be on a rental basis temporaily until we sorted out a new home in Orrell. We shouldn't have to change our name as we woul still be Orrell.

I voted Wigan RU,
I spent a season there a couple of years ago (I wont claim to have been playing more trying to get fit!!) and its a cracking club, good staff, nice clubhouse and since the pitches were re-layed a nice playing surface. Only problem is its a nightmare to get to, nearly wrote off the old motor many a night trying to get to training.

I agree that the road upthere is a nightmare especially at night and considering thre are big cliff like ditches etc if you take a corner in a rally sort of way and its also terrible if two cars are coming up as one has to revrse all the way back to hwere they came from.
