today was a good game i thought the only downside was the penalties the biased ref and the awful changing rooms

first game of the season forwards played beta than the backs

but dont think any1 cud be arsed

exactly they wern't the best team and we fer smashed em anyway

i have 3 things to say

1 - whats going on with sams posts, you dont get one everytime you score sam
2 - sorry for the binning today, i had no warning from the ref, he said he would miss things (my try included) and he missed the warning
3 - forwards did play well but the backs didnt really get a chance to get into it and that wind didnt help either

im glad us forwards did better than the backs today just becoz im sick of them gettin the credit all the time

and i have to say all the games ive played in tht has to be the worst of the lot im sorri for sayin it lads it just was

Formby Vikings RUFC v Orrell RUFC
This was Orrell’s last match of 2008, Formby Vikings had already conceded the game giving Orrell the 3 points but wanted to play rugby so the match was on, Only problem was the referee failed to show so The Formby Vikings coach agreed to referee but with no whistle until somebody had nipped to Tesco to buy one making himself heard was a problem. Orrell won the toss and kicked off and put Formby Vikings under pressure straight away and it was inevitable that first blood would go to Orrell, From a 5 metre scrum Grant picked up the ball to power over the line with a very strong cross wind kicking was going to be difficult today but Hughes converted easily. From kick off Culiffe catching the ball going backwards managed to knock on putting Orrell on the defensive for the first time to clear the line Hrnby chipped a delicate ball forward which Jones chased and retrieved then a couple of delicate passes allowed Armstrong in for the try in the corner. The rest of the match belonged to Armstrong scoring 6 ties and Hughes kicking 3 more conversions with only one try in reply although Armstrong takes the credit for the points some of the play before hand to get him into try scoring positions was unbelievable and a special mention should go A Wadsley, Farrimond, Hughes, Jones Whitfield (Capt) and the rest of the team although Bond did have the chance to put Halsall but held on to long and the moment was gone. The only down side was that some indiscipline crept in in the later stages of the match which didn’t really affect the outcome of this game but could have in a closer match.
Armstong’s best try was picking the ball up on Orrells try line and running the full length of the pitch to score under the sticks it had the crowd of 2 going wild.

An excellent end to 2008, enjoy your well deserved Christmas break. Orrell has always prided itself on the standard of its Colts rugby and im glad to see that continue. 4th in the league 3rd best points average in any league and the highest points scored out of every league, those are impressive stats!
