Sedgley Park 40 - 0 Orrell
Probably the toughest game we will play all year, this Sedgley side have a number of District and SoR players in the ranks although for the first half Orrell matched them in a number of areas.
Unfortunately in rugby you can't score without the ball and Sedgley were very impressive in their continuity, Orrell were defending for large periods but held out well, conceding only 3 tries in the first half. One area Orrell were dominant in was the scrum, winning every put-in. Worth noting that apart from Connor this is a pretty inexperienced front row.
In the second half fitness began to show, the lack of a game in the last couple of weeks and the open day at SJR meaning we were unable to train the previous Wednesday. Again the defending was excellent and some good tactical kicking meant that the score line wasn't much larger than it could have been.
In the back line there is a massive improvement, some of the strike moves we have been working on were used and the execution was excellent. We definately have the makings of a strong side
