have just read gregs posting and spoken to him on the phone why are we losing people like greg these are the guys we should be using to build orrells future in the last twelve months you have lost three of the best junior coaches at Orrell . greg, ash and jennings and with myself moving on It is not looking good for the future we are the people that were diehards for orrells great junior section and i am afraid the exec and lack of communication has broken up the main part of the junior sections organisation good luck greg in whatever you do and think positive what you did for orrell got you the job you wanted all the best mate

This is getting stupid now we had a coach who works for the RFU has all the qualifications to take on any coaching job in rugby and i'm sure could do a great job at any club. But once again great coaches have been allowed to leave we lost ash and jennings argubly the best coaches with kids and now lost greg the best coach orrell junior section has had. If you want a junior section to produce players for the 1st team then you need the best coaches at the junior section, I think the junior section should sort this problem out it is hard enough getting people like ash, jennings and greg but we done a good job of throwing them away. I've been told he didn't have a team to coach due to the seniors folding so why did no one step in to give him another team to coach. I would like to say thanks to greg as he done a great job with the senior colt team and also for the hard work he done with the 1st team. not forgetting it was greg who brought james to the club and gave him a place to stay this club owes the man alot for this season. he will be greatly missed

Im flattered by the support shown on these boards and the calls I have got. Without great players and support from the club I wouldn't be as valued as I feel getting this support.
I must however clear up some assumptions. I have not left Orrell nor have I resigned as coach of the 19s. The 19s league season has finished and we were unable to field a side in the cup competition. This meant I had no side to coach other than assist Ian with the 17s. I have no problem assisting Ian and enjoy working with him. At the moment I need to take a little step back and sort out some work stuff. But I have my own feelings about what level I wish to coach at which on.
However, the Junior committee are aware of my feelings and ambitions. They are also aware of my RFU commitments. They will be the first to know about my intentions. I am a coach at Orrell RUFC.
I love Orrell RUFC. I am from Preston and came through the ranks at PG RUFC. Had one season with Orrell colts before other things came along. Been here a few years now, gave a lot of time, effort, money and risked my job for the team with me. Helped Chris with firsts also. I have made some fantastic friends here and felt part of the place. Even considering moving closer to make things easier. Because of all the bad times of recent this has made me feel stronger about Orrell RUFC. I have even turned down 2 paid coaching positions, and 2 county coaching roles to stay and coach the lads.
I have ambition but this needs to be matched by everyone for me to coach any team.
I cannot wait for the day when Orrell go down to Preston and put another huge score on them and rise up the leagues to greatness again. You must keep the faith - if we build it, they will come.
All the best
Greg

Well said greg problem is only the lads and your supporters read this so come on boys let everyone know what is needed to keep this great junior section and its managers and coaches together. commitment and communication is only one way at the moment give them some ideas as to where orrell is going either the exec or junior committee needs to start shouting from the touchline and make people feel needed
