The Junior Chair

I read this site regularly and use it to keep in touch with what I consider rightly or wrongly "my" colts and junior section having put a lot of years and effort in . When Paul and myself retired Janet Walker was good enough to volunteer to chair your committee immediately getting a substantial grant to ensure you as a section could carry on . this season you have all got new kits thanks to Janet and her committee and yet I keep reading moans from some of the supposed players and parents
If you are a parent at Orrell speak to Janet and put yourself forward as a volunteer and if you are a player persuade your parents to come forward and help. Don't blame the politics of the club on Janet or her committee it is also your parents problem to fund for your tour the committee has never done that as far as I can remember If you want a successful club like Ormskirk and Rhyl it starts with the parents and you should support your chair at all times . put up or shut up if you think you can do a better job speak to Janet I am sure she would chuck it in if someone else came forward and then give you her support from behind the scenes if needed.
come on make this section work and keep the bickering off this site, it must look bad if other clubs read it and it certainly looks bad when I read it

As one of the parents who now runs the Under 11s I would like to thank all the committee members and others connected with the club who have helped us in running the Under 11s this year (including Sibulele Ndungane who comes along to training each week to help coach the lads), the other parents of the Under 11s for their support and assistance, the players for their efforts and great team spirit and for the members and parents of the other clubs we have played this year for their words of encouragement and support for Orrell RUFC

This is a great club which is facing hard times (I know I am stating the obvious!). What has happened in the past is history. Complaining/moaning etc about things that have happened in the past won't change the position the club now finds itself in now!! Just like in a game our only chance of turning this situation around is to work together as a team.

There are a lot of people putting in a lot of time and effort to turn things around so lets be positive on this site,in training, at meetings and matches etc and get behind them and give what ever assistance we can to help make this club a success once again. This is your chance/time to make a difference .......... and what better way to "stick two fingers up" to those who have put the club into the position it now finds itself in than to turn things around and make Orrell RUFC a thriving and successful club again!!
