WOW.....I was at training at John Rigby last night for the Mini's & Juniors training (under 15's) and the numbers training there was superb. ;D There must have been well in excess of 80 kids all having a great time.
This shows the growing popularity of the sport and of Orrell locally.....it was fantastic to see so many having a great time ;D
Keep on spreading the word as these kids are the future of Orrell RUFC!!!
Very well done to all concerned!!! ;D

even tho the under 15's have great numbers we need to go a recurtiment drive 4 the other ages groups manily both colts teams we should be sticking a lod of posters in schools an colleges and have have night or day wit a fund raiser to promote the club im sure there r others who will agree wit me as we havent even got an under 16's and both colts r at the edge of folding

Jnr colt your spot on re: recruitment is it not possible to arrange a couple of midweek friendly games against local colleges. Im sure there are a lot of ex rugby union and league players who would love a fresh challenge.
I know Altrincham Kersal recruit from the local colleges because there is a big drop off in players after u16s just a thought.

I totally agree with the point form colt becasue we need to recruit players however it is really hard to recruit from college as most who play union already have teams that they do not want to move from thier club or if they do want to move its not to orrell becasue of the uncetainty surrounding the club (at both colts and first team levels becasue of the postioos there in in thier respective leagues).
League players dont want to change their code beacsue most think that they havemore chance of becomimng pro or playing igher standard or rugby in league than union too.
The point about altircham kersal to is spot on as they had a brillaint colts team at my age (senior colts wereunbeatin for a long while) but folded last year due to numbers either leaving or being recruited to other teams and not being able to recruit.

I tried to get some League players for the Juniors early on this season 2 stayed but the other 4 left because they didn't think they could play the game properly and were scared of the line out plays , and they think they are the hard players !
