Southport U12s 59 v Orrell U12s 14
It was a wet and windy morning in Southport and although Southport had a lot of the early possession Orrell defended well with a big improvement in their play at the breakdowns. The Southport pressure finally told with Southport scoring 5 tries (all converted) to one try (converted) from Orrell in the first half.
Again in the second half Southport had the majority of the possession and scored 4 more tries (2 converted) before Orrell responded in the final play of the game with a try that was converted.
Whilst Southport deserved the victory the score line was harsh on an Orrell team which continues to improve (although maybe should not look to play an expansive game 5 metres from their own try line!!) and show determination and commitment right up to the end of the game regardless of the score line.
Next Sunday we are off to New Brighton - Join Orrell RUFC Under 12s and see the world!!
