Another tough encounter for the lads on Sunday but once again one which showed some promise and the fact that we have a talented bunch of lads here.
The match finished 42-5 to Leigh on a Glorious sunday in the sun. The first half was a tight encounter which a lot of sustained pressure from Leigh through good tackling and a well directed kicking game, something Orrell havent had to defend before.
Again the lads showed great tenacity in the forward pack making some good drives and a lot of yards in the process. Orrell nearly went over on a number of occasions just falling short of the line, again our powerful Number 8 Singe very nearly opened the scoring with a drive for the line. The score was broken by Orrell's Captain Connor with a run worthy of a Back down the line he was tackled just short. Some excellent support play from our loan 10 to continue the run before Connor regained himself to pick and drive over the line. A fantastic try to cap another good match for the Captain.
Once again we'll take a lot of positives from this game, against a stronger opposition Orrell again kept fighting (nearly literally) to the final whistle and drew praise from all quarters for their spirit. We looked much more organised in our set play, particular note to Rob who devised the lineout calls and used them to great effect during the match
