Orrell U13s 33 Fleetwood U13s 29
After what has been a very difficult start to the season, Orrell came out the winners of a close and exciting game against Fleetwood.
Inspired by playing their first game in their new kits, Orrell raced to a 14-0 leaded with two tries in the first four minutes from Danny and Grant, both of which were converted by Jake.
Orrell then lived on scraps for the rest of the first half as Fleetwood donimated possession and cross the line four times to take a 24-14 lead into the break.
Now playing with the staff breeze at their backs, the Orrell forwards managed to get more possession and this was turned into points with tries from Danny (2) and Chris. Jake doubled his points tally by converting two of the tries.
Orrell thought they were crusing to victory with 10 minutes of the game remaining, but a determined Fleetwood side set up a tense finish when they scored their fifth try with three minutes left to play.
Fleetwood spent the final minutes camped in the Orrell 22, but with some frantic defending Orrell finally managed to bundle the ball into touch to secure the win.
