We'd love to hear feedback on what everyone thought of the entertainment area last Saturday. We welcome all comments including any criticisms (constructive would be preferable) on how we could make it better. What was good, what was not so good, what other things would you like to see available, what could we get rid of....that sort of thing.
Thanks......Jon

I thought the set up was great all things considered but obviously there will be days when the weather isn't so great. Maybe we could erect a larger tarp to cover that whole area, kind of like a marquee, so that there is penty of cover if the heavens open.
Some plastic seating wouldn't go amiss either and be a nice alternative to sitting in the stand which can get quite windy/

KC,
Thanks for the swift response. The Chapster has already purchased a 40' x 20' tarp to act as a awning in front of the other two marquees/tents/car ports, which may be turned round to face the pitch. This will create a large covered area.
you're right, we could do with some of those plastic patio sets, the one's with the round tables and plastic chairs to set out under there.
If anyone has any of those going spare now the Summer has left us, we could make use of them....
Thanks again ;D

Saturday seemed like a complete success to me, result aside. It seems that people are beginning to focus on what is important which is doing what's best for the future with the resourses the club has and not what it has lost. I must say though it is a fair trek for beer and pie's from the stand on the other side (I'm not saying I don't need the excersise) and I did see Jon come over with some cans, but there didn't appear to be that many eating and drinking there. Superb effort by all. Trays of Hotpot for the winter months - easy money.

Personally, Saturday showed glimpses of what Orrell used to be like. While I'm obviously all for looking ahead as a club, we can also take a hell of a lot from the past - fantastic hospitality being my real point.
We were always referred to as one of the best clubs to visit in the good 'ol glory days and there is no reason why we cannot achieve that again.
We're a long way off getting a sustainable venue, but what Jon & his band of merry men did on Saturday was nothing short of fantastic and I wish to extend my thanks to everyone who helped out.
Rugby union was always a unique game in the sense that it was a real 'event', not a 'lets watch a sports game then go straight home', and thats what Saturday felt like to me.
Can't wait til the next game!
