Just wanted to know what other peoples veiws are on about the senoir colts team of 2006/7: We went from league & league cup winners (and progressed to the latter stages of the national cup and lancs cups) to a team that finised bottom of the league we won previously: Where we unlucky with injuries Or was it because people left Was it beacsue we didnt have a senior colts team above us to merge with to make us more competitve agaonst older oppposition Any other points that people want to mention the reason why we werent competitive.

I think it's obvious what happened John Rigby is far far from ideal and as you know when Ash Jennings and myself wanted to help Greg it fell flat on it's face due to lack of interest from anyone that should have come forward Greg was determinrd to keep things going but there was no enthusiasm from anyone else , things will have to change as it is impossible to build up the junior, colts section with the facilities, or lack of offered. When the club decide in which direction they are going hopefully someone will consider you boys but i doubt it very much you will be at John Rigby for a while yet..Just as an afterthought isn't it funny how people are finding it hard to communicate but as soon as word gets round that I have gone to Liverpool st helens I recieve phone calls warning me off whether it was meant that way I dont know but that was the way it was taken good luck christian and the rest of the section would be nice if you all kept in contact and yes I would really like to come back to Orrell but not with the way things are at present

I was told the problems happened at the beginning of the season.
Some Players unhappy with training. Some Players unhappy with certain people involved in the team and some players started to think they were to good for the team.
I think if it wasn't for a great coach like greg the team would of folded alot sooner than it did and i dont think the decision of the juniors keeping their team going for the rest of the season helped.
But its just the kind of luck this club is having recently once a good team and individuals come along it all goes to pot.
I hope the Junior Section Learns from this and amazing junior teams like the under 15s are kept together and kept all the way to the 1st team so the club can survive.

What Has Happened?
Lots of things, too many to write here anyway. I just wrote answers to the post on here. Then thought it best to not post it. It was very very long and not appropriate.
Injuries didnt help. Players leaving didnt help. Commitment to training from some didnt help. Future of the club didnt help. Playing facilities didnt help. Training facilities didnt help. Non communication didnt help.
Some of these reasons make people think of better prospects elsewhere. Eventually it has a knock on effect and the circle continues.
I was chuffed to bits when Keith, Ashy and Jennings offered to help out. It was a pity we couldn't keep the numbers and move forward.
Keith - If like you say you have moved to LSH, I wish you the best of luck and hope your energies can be used well. If you want to catch up, I will be at LSH on Friday afternoon working for the RFU with an emerging schools festival.
Christian - I hope that you continue with your rugby. You have a natural talent and size that is useful in todays game.
Its a shame that this team is really no more. We had some fantastic players and a team with potential to stuff any team in Lancs or Cheshire. with proper commitment and training. It was a pleasure to coach you guys and watch you play.
Hopefully we can meet up and catch up with a beer sometime.
Regards
Greg

DOYLY surely the junior colts will move up to seniotr next season so there will be a team for you but if anyone has not got a team to play for at Orrell then I would welcome them to Liverpool st helens where I am involved in the junior section I do not wish to poach players but if anyone wishes to speak to me give me a ring on 01744892697 and we will fix you up until the orrell situation is sorted at least it will keep players playing if there is nothing for them, and then even I will return to my first club
