Forever Amber, I think it's safe to say that we will be watching all this season's home matches in the cold. Mr W has thrown his toys out of his pram and would rather lose money than let us use it.....but what the h*ll....we'll survive. All is not lost however ;D If you come and watch a home match, you have the grand opportunity to try out a (soon to become) world famous 'Orrell Burger'....Orrell famous butter pie....fresh jacket potato.....and get this.....all at very reasonable prices !!! Hope to see you there......winners find a way

Why not ask all those members who took Whelans £1000 to give it back to the club and buy it back off him, Quick enough to take his offer slow to see that the club could have sold its own pitches and not ended up carrying the begging bowl or in this situation you probably got what you deserved this is the true cost of dealing with Whelan man of the borough ? my arse!!!!

I don't know how many people took the £1000 but I reckon they would have to give 5 times that back to get anywhere close to what he wants for it now...and that's without training pitches Nice man though eh? Like you say... "my a*se!!"

JJ Bradburn, When Whelan offered his £1000 per member you could argue we were in a worse situation. Despite being one league higher than we are now we only had 5 players training as I recall. Whelan wooed the members with talk of European rugby and challenging the likes of Leicester. Even citing the success of Newcastle and emulating them. The other option we had was to find another investor or fold. Whelan seemed like a saviour at the time. As for the pitches; hadn't they already been sold before Whelan made his offer? I was under the impression that we had those pitches on a 125 year lease, or until they could get planning permission and they had to find us suitable replacement pitches to an equivalent level as the ones that were sold. I'm not defending Dave Whelan, what he has allowed ML to do to this club is diabolical. Just remember it wasn't all rosy before Mr Whelan became involved. I took my £1000 and used it to travel all over the country following Orrell home and away. Now I have a house and wedding to pay for and cannot afford to give it back. The only thing I have to offer is my time, and I will be handing in my volunteer form at the next home game.
