All I can say after today's performance is that I am proud to be an Orrell supporter again.
For all those out there who think we have a team of rejects just playing for money with no pride, I ask you this - why weren't you there today? Every single man on that field played their absolute hearts out, and even I find that hard to swallow. When you're down you're down right? So why care?
Well the lads did care, and by God did they give us a great game of rugby today! We were unfortunate again as DMP's two tries both resulted from blatant fouls (forward passes and gaining possession from offside positions), although this only amounted to 12 points.
They also had 16 men on the field at one point when they brought on two subs and had a man in the sin bin, resulting in me having a rather large 'tiff' with one of their pathetic officials ;D.
If we're not good enough, we're not good enough, and with no disrespect to the team we're not. But if you play with the passion they did today you can't possibly have a reason to doubt their committment. Tries allowed or disallowed, we were a beaten team today.
But we not once showed it.

Well said Joe great effort and on clean breaks we were the better team just lack of finishing pace cost us a win my first game this season but with the effort the team gave I am looking forward to the rest of the home games and the players should be proud of the effort and pride they put in for Orrell today.

As I have said elsewhere,I think that was the best, most co-ordinated performance for weeks. In theory that should not be so when half the team have left and on the back of a century of points drubbing. They looked more like a "team" than when they were so called at full strength. An incompetent referee ( and touch judges) plus their own failure to capitalise on a couple of golden chances kept them from a well deserved win. I understand the South African lads have to go home in March which will seriously disrupt the team, given our lack of strength in depth. As if ORUFC had not had enough problems in 2007.
