The decision to leave was not taken lightly.
I would like to thank Chris for his support both on this site and thought the season. I would also like to thank Jo and Guest for their comments
I wish the club and the supporters all the best for the future.
Regards
Matt
PS No1 fan (from the Tossas site) I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about.

Definate shame to see Matt go,
Although I only had the pleasure of seeing him play a few times you can't doubt the mans commitment, Im a bias supporter of forwards (especially props)but he deserves it. I only hope Orrell dont have to come up against you any time soon!!!!!

On the subject of lack of movement/communication from the exec. may I add my tuppence-worth? As someone who was, until recently, volunteers co-ordinator & information/communications officer & raffle organiser & God knows how many other things I have been lucky enough to be invited to take part in some, but by no means all, of the many meetings that have been going on behind the scenes.
I can assure all members that a great deal of work is being done. I, personally, don't know where the likes of Tony Pegg and Jim Lloyd and their counterparts in the Junior section find the time to even eat a meal, let alone hold down jobs and take part in their own personal/family lives!
During my time as Information Officer I found it very difficult to come by info. that members and fans, including myself, wanted. I found, through various meetings with the exec., that their hands are tied awaiting decisions from people outside the club, and that they cannot disclose any information until those people have made their decisions. This is, obviously, especially true of any pronouncements that DW/ML may make as they may say one thing one day and two hours later all has changed! How can you give fans any details when you know that shortly after what you thought was an agreement is reneged upon?
There has been criticism of Jon and Joe and the committee for keeping things close to their chests. This is not by design but because there are so many things in the air at present. Meetings with many and various people are taking place on an almost daily basis to try to secure the future of our club and these cannot be divulged openly until conclusions are reached and there is something to be put before the members.
The exec. has chosen to be judged on their results - and I don't mean results on the field - rather than website entries. They must want to throw in the towel when they see criticims such as have appeared here but they haven't and continue to work their butts off for ORRELL.
I congratulate them for that.
I don't know most of the people who post critical remarks here as everyone seems to be ashamed to use their own names. On behalf of the club I would like to apologise for the lack of information but, hopefully, you can now see why.
As an aside, none of this is aimed at the marvellous support given to the club by all the junior players and, in particular, the u15s who demonstrate their commitment to the whole club by their wonderful displays at 1stXV matches. Keep it up lads. With the likes of you lot behind us how can we fail?
