Look on the bright side - it can't get any worse than this, can it? Or can it???

Look on the bright side - it can't get any worse than this, can it? Or can it??? Blackest day in Orrell's history. Sorry, there is no bright side on which to look. I feel very sorry for everyone involved, on Orrell's behalf today, both on and off the field. I hope and trust there was no lack of effort but when a team suffers a mass exodus of the better players, such as Orrell has just experienced at short notice , it is impossible to stem the tide against much superior opposition.

Hats off to the Drummer boy and crew, supporting to the end. Also to Orrell, dignity in defeat.

Louis,
You do not know the details, so please keep comments like that to yourself. Both Matt and PJ stayed at the club for a long time and stayed on after last year when so many others left.
They both wanted to play for Orrell... and have not moved for cash.

Its a great idea to have local players who you don't need to pay expenses as they live round the corner but in the real world that doesn't happen their isn't enough players from Orrell for that and more importantly to have good enough players to play at this level you have to look outside of wigan. Its sad but true I bet you can count the number of players from orrell in the 1st team on one hand easily no reason why local players can't play for us but they choose not to. I hope the club can keep hold of players like your self louis and the rest of the under 15 team because you are the future of this great club.

the truth is Louise is when you grow up you will realise that if there is a contract on the table you will accept the cash to play life ensures you have to do that don't blame the players for moving blame the people involved in the running of the club and look at the monies wasted over the last two years Chris has done a great job with what he's got but have you ever thought not one committee person has come on here and explained anything. How long have you played at Orrell surely you can see that the schools are not playing union now,in the past we had the best players from the local schools but now they are being led into rugby league by the schools. where does the club go from here? for supporters and junior players alike please let us know and make it official not just john or Joe believing there are behind the scenes things going on and yes the under 15s have some good players but how do we ensure that these players will have a rugby union club to play for in the next 6 or 7 years there is only so much commitment a player can give for expenses if he is any good, and this will make sure if the club carries on then a far lower league is needed and John Rigby will once again make it so that no monies can be made .. We need a proper ground and some way to make enough money to ensure our future
