Orrell supporters might be interested in the following (from the Fylde website) concerning your ex-player Alistair Atkinson.
------------------------------ One of the most remarkable comebacks in English rugby will take place at the Stockport v Fylde Wanderers Bateman BMW Premiership game tomorrow. Fylde (and ex-Orrell & Sedgley Park) 1st team lock or backrower Alistair Atkinson had surgery for testicular cancer in February followed by a gruelling course of chemotherapy. This was succeeded by lung surgery in late July.
The 6'4", 17st forward has not only been coaching the Wanderers, Fylde's 2nd team, since the beginning of the season but is starting the game in the pack on Saturday. Everyone at the Club, and the many people who know him in Northern rugby, will wish the very best of luck to a fantastic, courageous sportsman. Go to it Ali!
