Once again we showed a second half performance , so we do have players with the ability to win games and hold our heads up high. So wheres it going wrong ? Are we a sports car with a child at the wheel? Are we a prize antique that needs buffing up with some new polish or are we the boys in the trenches waiting for the whistle for the over the top lack of leadership?
What ever it is we the players are feeling the pain and suffering of the losses. Those who dont know that for us the mid February transfer deadline is getting closer and with talks of 'shutting up shop' or giving up its quite worrying . So after that post what do you think is needed. Most clubs would be making a change in players and staff if survival is the aim.
The players we have had in and out tried or died for the Orrell cause . But after saturdays game some of us feel bad decisions were made in selection . This has cost us twice now . So with this what do you the officials ,management ,volunteers and supporters think. Should we releases our overseas players so that at least we save money and their pride in playing in a failing team .its not just the club but some of these overseas lads have a reputation to keep and i for one want to see them to go further . We have a number of young players from bigger clubs ,the fullback for one was probably the best for Orrell on Saturday, our scrum half showed his experience and class and hes leaving soon and the new guy brought a smile to our players and supporters faces but he might not be here long.
YOU DECIDE

Am I alone in being too cynical by suspecting that the above post did not come from a player at all? Would any player hide behind phrases like " some of us feel there are bad decisions made in selection" and when he says "these have cost us twice now" does not that sound like a player ( which I very much doubt) who has been left out of the side NOT one of the current team.? Also if I was a current player I certainly would not like a fellow team mate to refer, so impersonally, to "the overseas players","the full back","the scrum half", "the new guy", with no names of these fellow team members mentioned. I'm sorry , call me a cynic, but there is something unbelievable about that post!

you're not alone, and certainly not cynical, just very astute. If you get fed up of first team rugby, come and follow the fifteens.

I am not fed up of 1st,XV.rugby, just desperate for them to win occasionally. I used to watch a lot of Sunday morning junior rugby at Orrell when I was active on various committees. I must confess I've not been down for a few years. It could be old age/Sunday papers/missing the clubhouse/wife claimed the car or a combination of all of them . I keep abreast of the scores/match reports etc and I admire the people who are keeping the juniors "alive" in these difficult times.

I am not sure what this "player" is talking about (in fact I'm not sure this "player" knows what he/she/it is talking about...
There has been no mention of shutting up shop, or giving up... and neither is there reason for such talk. We may (that is "may") go down - but we won't be out.
By the way "parent" - I will endeavour to get to the U15s game. should be a good'n. It's nice to know the Juniors think of themselves as part of the real ORUFC!

Well i did stir up a hornets nest , questions for all!answers by so many. thats how a forum works.....
i read a post or article earlier that clubs shut up shop etc when they get in the situation that orrell has found itself in. This was not what i am hoping was to happen , i was looking to see what everyone else thought . Oh and as a player i can make what ever judgement i want and view my thoughts . We have had Orrells version of Paul McKenna visit us at training we have tried different options in our plays , we do as our coach asks or tells us and we are proud of those supporters and jon the buger king do to keep us running . we have a great man at the helm in CC we have other good coaches around him. So those in the posts above why do you not make youself known on tuesday or thursday to our coaches and help us out , i am a player like it or not and i am busting a gut for orrell and im proud to be doing it.

...and what do you suggest we can do to help out?

If you are a genuine player thanks a million for 'busting a gut' for Orrell, and thanks also to your squad mates for doing the same. If you are a genuine player you will also know that others, like Jon B., are also 'busting a gut' for the same purpose, albeit in a different way. If you are a genuine player you will also know that we have so many posts on both this and the TOSAS site from bogus people who glory in our present predicament and simply wish to stir things with a big spoon. If you are a genuine player you will also know that genuine people who post items give a recognisable name/pseudonym, including players. If you are a genuine player I suggest that you do that, but only should you wish to be taken seriously. I would hope that genuine players would wish to be taken seriously?

PS You ask genuine members/supporters to turn up for training sessions and make themselves known yet you are not prepared to make yourself known on a website?

first of all the person who thingyed up the registations and lost those 6 points should walk.the person who never phoned last seasons players ,pre season ,to get them back should walk.any player who is not up to 2 training sessions, should not be selected.you have lost good players who have had problems with commitee men over money.you have lost men over commitee men having a go after games.basically get rid of them, there are good people at orrell john b,martin, joe to name a few who are keeping your club going, get rid of your dead wood you might have a chance.and remember without chris c you would not have a team.

to ex fan..., if u want to tell people to walk and such other things then you shud just look how it seems to others.. you are an "ex fan" which shows a lack of loyalty to your club , because as far as im concerned you cant just change from team to team . and on top of the lack of loyalty (which is vital , especially at the moment for orrell) you then go on to tell people here what to do !!!
