In spite of some basic errors in the first half, a much-improved display and a fantastic second half against the top-of-the-league team. Who's coming to see us beat West Park next week then?

Yet another game which Orrell lost in the first 20 minutes. They have shown they can play and compete at this level but it usually happens towards the end of the first half til the end of the game.
The team appear to be half asleep for the first 20 minutes and only wake up when 10+ points down. I think Chris should be looking at the team talk before the game.....with some running onto the pitch with some fire... not strolling on half asleep. I believe that this initial motivation is all this team needs to gain a win. Ability wise they have shown that from 20 mins gone to final whistle they can be the better side and I'm sure that if the stats are looked at for this time period we would have won a couple already this season.
I do not doubt their motivation as I admire the way that the team have not given up and fought from 20 mins gone to the final whistle, often looking the best team.
So come on Chris look at the pre game team talk and get them fired up from the first minute.
Keep battling
Ps. how many points have Orrell conceded in the first 20 mins compared to the last 40? anybody know.

Have to agree, an excellent second half. The fact we kept an excellent Rugby Lions squad to 1 last minute try in the second half shows personally that the skill and commitment is there to win matches against the best in this league.
Can I also say how impressed I was with the quality of the Rugby Lions pre-match session. Some of their phase drills were superb and you could tell they were really fired up for this match.
My biggest worry though in all the matches I have seen this year is the quality of the lineouts. If positional kicking is going to be used as a tactic then lineouts have to be tighter. I am a big believer in lineouts as an attacking platform and I think too much posession and momentum was lost through turned-over lineouts.
