I wonder what the clubs view is on the points deduction for fielding unregistered players is - see the NCA website!! Apparently 6 points in relation to 2 games at the start of the season!!!

Jon, It seems a lightly harsh punishment - do you know the resoning behind the punishment, and are there any plans to appeal given the situation at the club?

The NCA website gives a report as to why the deduction was 6 points and I would imagine that seeing as the deduction has been shown on both the NCA website and on the BBC sport website, that the club has done all it can to appeal.

Back in the day nothing like this happenend , if it did points at the end of season were deducted and also reading nca website bradford appealing has delayed their conviction . Bring back hanging and the stocks i know too many people have worked hard these last two weeks to get the club up and running. my feelings are that sometime ,somewhere and someone has not impressed the rfu or dw . Worcester had problems in the 90s when they tried to buy promotion i know i was playing for them people did not like the name and we picked up enemies everywhere. i think Orrell might have done something similar to the rfu in the past. so now me and the other guys are going to have to work three times harder to get the points back . yours a vet now ..jezzer

Jezzer...
This is another setback in a long line of setbacks we have experienced so far this season. However, the majority of the other setbacks have been brought about by outside influences, whereas for this c*ck up, we have no-one else to blame but ourselves.
I'm absolutely gutted at this as I'm sure many others are, including the players but whilst this makes, what was already a huge task into a mammoth mountain to climb....survival is not impossible.
Although it's getting increasingly challenging......keep the faith

Apparently the original deduction was to be 8 points but has been reduced to 6. Two members of the exec. went to Stourbridge last Tuesday to appeal and were granted this reduction.
I feel bad enough so God knows what the players must be thinking. Comes the end of the season it would be awful for us to be relegated because of this but we now have to accept it, put it behind us, and get on with the rest of the season.
See you at Hoppers for the first shock result of the season - 'Bottom club beats top'!

this on top of other things is a real kick in the tads for chris and the players ,whoever is to blame should be explaining what went wrong,to the players,as they are the ones who will have to drag themselves out of the mire.

I had started to believe in the postings and thoughts about out survival in this whole sorry debacle. Having been previously slated for my views on amateurism/semi professional status by the angry moderator, I went with the majority on this matter. {Joe I still love you}. Now I believe that it's all a nonsense. 6 points deducted? What is going on behind the scenes? Money for players is now small beer. Like anything else before you start, you know the crime, you know the penalty. That anyone thought they could get away with fielding non registered players buggers belief. No one is bigger than the ruling body. This is an on going subject almost by the week. Even Lindsay was not not bigger than the salary cap rules at the RFL, hence Wigan's deduction when they could least afford it. We are bottom, minus 5 points, and 160 odd points in arrears on goal difference. 3 teams to be relegated. International Rescue would have their work cut out to save us.. My sentiments? Anyone been to Vienna? Good night!! {And for God's sake, if I've missed something major, don't hesitate to correct me}. If there is a credible explanation to this, I, like many other members, would like toknow about it.

Degsy, I promise, once this Saturday's out of the way and the celebrations of our first win (including my Sunday hangover) I'll get right onto it I would suggest we hold it at the station just round the corner from the ground and make it around early to mid November. Would you prefer it after a home match, so you've got time to go home and do your make up?? If possible I'll chat to you about it Saturday.....see you then & all the best for the game ;D COME ON ORRELL !!!
