I would just like to say to all the orrell players and staff good luck for the future. i am sure you will come back stronger. it happened to us and we have managed to turn things around .
It takes time and things take time to mend but with players who want to play for the club (not for cash) then you will find you way back into the nationals
well keep your chins up and keep fighting and i am sure we will be playing against each other in the future :D

I also am very sad to see what as happened to Orrell RUFC. I remember the great days when Orrell had England Internationals. I used to love watching the Black & gold at Edge Hall Road. I am a Loyal Wiganer and will always follow,Orrell, the Warriors, Wigan RUFC and of course the latics (even though they play with a funny shaped ball ha ha )

I agree it is very sad. Sadly it seems the community was to blame mostly as they just didn't give their support to the club.
Hopefully the new club will do ok, I dont really like their stance on rugby but at least they are keeping the name alive.

If their stance on rugby had been listened to 2 years ago when it was suggested to the then exec then Orrell would still be around in the "old"way Played three won two when could Orrell say that in the past few years. Well done to the new Orrell people keep up the good work and then we can concentrate on once again having a club and team to be proud of with a flourishing junior section from 7s to senior colts and a first team for them to aspire to.
