Many of you will know that we will not be playing at Edge Hall Road next season, after nearly 60 years at the ground. This means that the last five games this season will be the last we ever play at EHR.
Please encourage your friends and family to come along to see the old ground before we leave. It is the end of an era!
I have made a Poster - which I'll put on the web site...
Anyone who comes to these matches may also witness our first home win of the season...

Forgot I'd already started a thread on this topic - so excuse the repetition - must be early onset old age... or the drink...
As most of you will know - we will not be playing at EHR next season. This is one of the few certainties we have at the club at present.
I am in the process of delivering leaflets around Orrell (with some help) as you know, but there are other things that can be done in the build up to the last game.
I have already had a message from Channel M saying that they will publicise the remaining home fixtures and will come down to film the last Game of the season.
If anyone has other ideas for the last three home games then please make your suggestions here. Just bear in mind that I do usually ask anyone with a suggestion to commit a bit of time implementing it if possible.
We'd like to get as many people through the gate as possible, and once they're in we'd like to make them feel welcome, give them some entertainment, and let them sample the Famous Orrell Hospitality.
Thanks,
Martin

Why don't we at half time have some entertainment for the last few games something like hit the bar challenge simple but fun to watch and can have a cash prize for the winner (obviously nothing major just something the club can afford). Plus little things like that will attract a few more fans (hopefully)

I don't see why we couldn't put something on at half time - for both the last two games - if anyone wants to organise it then please do - either some sort of fun kicking thing or a short game of mini rugby. Just let me know what you've oganised.
Not sure who you are Orrell Fan (please register if you haven't already) but if you want to contact me and let me know how you would like to organise it - I am open to suggestions and happy to help if I can.
And I'd love to have some of the juniors playing before the main event - but unfortunately it's not up to me. You'll need to ask the committee I'm afraid. I have tried - but as yet have not been given a decision... I think they're ignoring me...

Come on the committee it appears unlikely that any of the juniors will get the opportunity to play rugby union at EHR in the future so lets give them a taste of what it is like by allowing them to play at EHR before the final match of the season!!

I've only played for the club for the latter half of this season (you may or may not know me) on and off but its still an honour to pull on the jersey and play at such a famous ground. I will be very sad to see the back of EHR, I just hope the club can continue next season with some meaningful rugby. From what I see Orrell has some fantastic supporters willing to put lots and lots of time into making it happen every saturday and thank you for that, lets just hope we can get a result before the seasons out.

I can say with 99% certainty the Juniors will open the final game at EHR. The committee and volunteers are having a meeting this Thursday to discuss and designate all the things we want to do for this day.
Will keep you all posted!
